Check out this article in BusinessCloud9 entitled, “Public Sector Cloud – Glass Half Empty?” It’s a summary of this UNIT4 survey (the European company behind CODA and FinancialForce), which suggests that:
“‘Hybrid’ (mixing public and private) Clouds looks set to be the dominant model and that Cloud will continue to be a factor over the next ten years at least of ICT plans in the community.”
I agree with this statement, but unfortunately 501 of 607 respondents skipped the question about which industry they’re from and the survey’s geographic mix is quite random. I also found it surprising that in the question about cloud benefits, security was listed as an option – first time I’ve seen that. “Reliance on the internet” was the primary disadvantage of cloud applications and cloud control was number two. “Lack of integration and standards” was number three.
