Informatica Bets Heavily on Need to Integrate Data in the Cloud

Last week Tony Baer and Madan Sheina from Ovum published the following StraightTalk Opinion: Informatica Targets a Three-Pronged Growth Strategy. “Cloud-enabling more of Informatica’s product portfolio” was identified as a major theme of the company’s recent industry analyst summit.

According the report: “Informatica is betting heavily on the need to integrate data in the cloud” and “Informatica continues to innovate in the cloud.”

“The key driver for Informatica’s cloud strategy could be summarized as “no software does not mean no integration.” Having first acknowledged the impact of cloud computing back in 2005 and its potential for creating the next wave of data fragmentation and disintermediation, Informatica has rolled out a series of initiatives and product solutions to address integration in the cloud. These range from support of Salesforce.com integration and a separate data integration-as-a-service offering for on-premise data.”
