Extending the Informatica Platform to the Cloud

Here’s a pretty cool demonstration of how to create custom functions and publish them to non-technical users to consume and run using the Informatica Cloud Platform. The demonstration walks through the following steps:

  1. Creating an exporting an aggregation mapplet with inputs and outputs
  2. Creating a new Custom Function in Informatica Cloud Services
  3. Finding prebuilt Custom Functions on the Informatica Cloud Integration eXchange
  4. Creating a new order summary cloud data synchronization task that will integrate Accounts from Salesforce CRM and Oracle eBusiness Suite
  5. Mapping Account IDs, Order fields, and sum of Order values to give a single view of Order history to Salesforce users in the Account record
  6. Running the new task and monitoring it in Informatica Cloud Services
  7. Viewing the updated Account record in Salesforce.com with up-to-date Order information coming from Oracle ERP
