Salesforce Integration Resources

I just spent some time digging through some of the integration resources on the Salesforce community. While some of the materials are now out of date and will be updated at Dreamforce 2009, I think the questions posed in Andrew Leigh’s, “Put Your ERP Data to Work! Salesforce Best Practices for ERP Integration Success” presentation are still worth noting when it comes to data integration in the cloud:

  • Where are rules/processes executed?
  • Can you add additional apps/new processes easily?
  • Can you scale? Data volume or faster timing?
  • Do you have a data management strategy?
  • What are you not integrating? Why?

Unfortunately, the customer example in the presentation went with an on-premise appliance, not a true cloud-based integration solution. I’m sure that will not be the case at Dreamforce this year!
